What Our Clients Have to Say

I take my child to Empower for music therapy with Maria. She is kind, patient, and understanding, and I appreciate how sensitive Maria is. Whether its activities focused on exploration, body awareness, or choice-making, it seems to be very beneficial for my child. Thank you, Maria! Rebekah, Client Parent

I can’t say enough about Kate as a therapist and as a person! She has been so meaningful to my daughter and our family in the 2 years she’s been seeing her. She has an excellent way of communicating and showing my daughter how to use music as a way to explore and better be in touch with herself. She is such an excellent roll model for my young teen. I highly recommend music therapy for ALL adolescents!

My son attended an event hosted by Empower Music Therapy and we had so much fun! The Empower team knows how to create a community through music. Everyone, both kids and adults, had instruments in their hands and smiles on their faces.

Anna Laura and Kate are amazing at what they do!
Music Therapy is a vital tool for treating those who suffer from severe trauma. I’m so grateful to Empower Music Therapy for being on this journey of healing and hope. It is critical for young people who may not have the words but have big feelings, to learn to express themselves in a meaningful and healthy manner. I am and will be forever grateful. -Yvette, Client Parent

Ms. Anna Laura has been a delightful addition to our therapy routine! Our daughter is 7, with profound disabilities and a strong love for music. We have been doing family sessions, to increase play time between our kids. Both kids are beaming with happiness in almost every session. We’re so thankful to have found empower music therapy!  FAQs

  • Music therapy differs from a music class in that it uses music as a tool to help your child achieve specific emotional and developmental goals. While music classes focus on teaching musical skills, our certified therapists tailor sessions to meet your child's needs, like improving communication or emotional regulation.

  • No musical background is necessary for music therapy! Our sessions are designed to meet each child where they are, regardless of their musical skills.

  • Typically, it takes about 10 sessions to see significant progress in the goal areas we’re working on. However, many clients notice benefits after just the first session!

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

  • We work with people of all ages and abilities seeking belonging, connection, and validation. Our clients commonly include individuals diagnosed with autism, ADHD, trauma, and developmental disabilities. However, we also provide services for individuals who may not have formal diagnoses but are seeking support in areas such as emotional well-being, self-expression, and personal growth

  • Please reach out to us! We often provide clients with information about waiver and grant reimbursement to cover the cost of music therapy. We also offer a sliding scale and have a scholarship fund for group programming.
