Welcome Students!
We’re so glad you’re here
The Empower team consists entirely of board certified music therapists, so we have first hand experience with the stress that can surround observation, practicum, internship and sitting for boards.
We are here to connect and help you!
Individual sessions for music therapy students
Many students get connected to Empower by booking a music therapy session for themselves! A session, virtually or in person, with one of our skilled clinicians can be an incredible way to relieve the stress and anxiety that can surround being a college student. This can benefit students by experiencing music therapy personally before diving into the profession.
Common goals in sessions for students:
Stress reduction
Self-expression
Emotion regulation
Experiential learning
Opportunities for meaning making
Music Therapy Student Volunteering
Students can join Empower’s volunteer team to support our staff during our large-scale community events! This is a great way to learn more about the field of music therapy while also having a downright amazing time. Students must complete an application and small training to become a volunteer at Empower. Students who are not volunteers are welcome to join our community events as attendees!
Hear from Students:
Does Empower have an internship?
Short answer, no. While we would LOVE to have an intern, we don’t foresee having the ability to take an intern until 2025 or 2026.
Do you take practicum students?
Short answer, yes! We have taken practicum students in the past and are currently still exploring where practicum students are best suited at our practice. If you’re interested in having a practicum at Empower, direct your music therapy professors to us and we will take it from there.
We can’t wait to meet you.
